Download the patch and see if this works. Also did you try running both QTP
and IE with 'Run as Administration' mode?

Search Google for your QTP version + IE version + OS version combo. You
will get many articles which would provide you with the names of the
patches that you would need to install. Try out all those options and see
if they work. This is most probably just a minor issue.

Even if this doesn't work, you can for the time being, practice on the
Flight Reservation windows application available with QTP (All Programs ->
QTP -> Sample Applications -> Flight). Once the issue is fixed you can
switch back to IE.
