Hello Stefan, Hello Tobias, Hello Donald, Hello all others,

we have reached the point where all ros_comm packages build successfully.
You can see the current state of the commit
c5cb1388137fcf11c9fdc2c96b95ab73a59ed716 at

http://htmlpreview.github.com/?https://github.com/bmwcarit/meta-ros-test-reports/blob/master/report-2013.04.11-06_37_38.html

There are still some warnings, but I think those are easy to address.

In my opinion, it is now time to:

   - build, run and test an image with a minimal ROS system.
      - An initial step is the
core-image-ros-groovy-qemux86-running-roscore recipe for the qemu VM.
If you set ROS_ROOT=/usr and ROS_MASTER_URI=http://localhost:11311,
you can start roscore, but on my machine it breaks down with ERROR:
rosout
is not built. Please run 'rosmake rosout'.

   - consolidate our recent work:
      - by reviewing our recipes once more
      - by moving subjects to other upstream repositories, such as meta-oe
or into the various ROS repositories.
(I know this is a lot of work for discussions, explanations, but this
will improve the quality of the ROS packages or our recipes in the long
      run.)

   - suggest and discuss new goals, milestones and next steps.

What do you think? What ideas do you have for the next steps?

Lukas
