Hi Geoff

Unless I misunderstood your post, you can already do this in Metacard.

go stack url "http://www.someserver.com/somestack.mc"
go card aNamedCard of stack url "http://www.aserver.com/astack.mc#aNamedCard"

It's a magic feature which impressed the hell out of first me and 
next (and more important) one of my clients.

And another little trick I discovered recently is if you compress the 
stacks using Metacard's compress function before putting them on the 
server, you can open them in one statement:

go stack decompress(url "http://www.someserver.com/someCompressedstack")

This saves on server space, and I found generally faster download 
times. (But I think the speed improvement may vary depending on 
network setups)
