I don't know about the wav problem you describe, but...
- try putting you sound into a QuickTime file and importing that.
- if you need more sophistocated sound playback for the Mac, consider using externals.
There are simple options from Rinaldi, or more complex ones (which can access various
Macintosh toolbox calls) using Lawrence D'Oliveiro's xcmds (eg see:
http://www.geek-central.gen.nz/sw/index.html#SoundUtilities ) I have used these
extensively in the past for 16 bit sound recording and playback in HyperCard on the
Mac. Since these xcmds implement individual calls to the Mac toolbox *if properly
used* they are highly stable and reliable and easy to use in a variety of environments
(eg Metacard ).
