Keep Defaults will do this sometimes (most of the time?) too. It still writes the stuff to the SU file, but the three fingered salute is required to kill SmartCAM. As far as the Group palette, it doesn't happen every time to me. I haven't figured out the sequence of events that lead to it, but I also haven't spent much time trying. What's up with that? Task Manager says Freeform is still running, but that's about it. I've seen postings for win2k in th epast, but not quite like this. lemme know ernie
