We had the same problem with the tool sticking in the spindle. What seems to be happening is that the spindle and or the tool holders are getting excessive wear. When you machine a part with very much roughing or heavy cutting then the tool holder will work its way up into the spindle locking it in just that much tighter. The taper in the spindle is greater than it should be. The only way to solve the problem is to replace the spindle (can be expensive) or have the spindle re ground. There are people that can come to your shop and grind the spindle on the machine. takes about 4 -6 hours I think. The people that just did our machine is

He did a good job and explained a lot to us about tool holders and spindles.
You will also need to get a check gage for the tool holders and check them out and have them reground if necessary.
Good Luck

Hi All,
Does anyone have problems with tool holders sticking in the spindle?
We have a SuperMax Max 7 with a BT-50 taper spindle and the tools stick
in the spindle and its hard on the tool changer. I have cleaned it and oiled it
and nothing seems to help.
By the way Thanks for the help with the Plywood job.
Thanks
William
