I ended up needing both solutions. One for Ubuntu, the other for Fedora. Both my Fedora and Ubuntu can now access the Internet, they are using network interface eth0, and they are both again using the static IP address I assigned. To get Ubuntu back to this state, it was sufficient to edit /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules. When I did the same on Fedora, eth1 still came up and I didn't have Internet access. I then proceeded to do the fix described above, which solved the problem. > _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) MHVLS Auditorium Jun 4 - Sqeak! and eToys Jul 2 - KVM (Tenative) Aug 6 - Zenos Sep 3 - TBD
