First, you need to know security for what? That is, Iron Key like an iPhone
is more of a geek fashion statement for the price.
It's cool and slick, but at the end of the day what are you really trying to
do?
Bottom line if someone get's your key you don't want them to have easy
access to your private files, right?

Thus:
1) $20 or less normal USB key ***
2) Use TrueCrypt to secure data (http://www.truecrypt.org/) and it works
with OS/X and Windows so you can access your data from any platform

Simple, affordable, easy project that only takes 10-20 minutes, how can you
go wrong? ( ho ya, and it uses FOSS! better still )

*** I love my micro-usb it's a small chunk of stainless steel that's been
through the wash 2 times and still works with NO PROBLEMS!
