And note that it was "The official Verizon OTA package". It came from your vendor, even if you got it a little bit before your vendor provided an auto update. 2.1 existed for 3 months before such a package was created for the droid. You as an end user CAN NOT make that package. You will only get it once your vendor has made it for you. Mobile is not general purpose space.
