The problem with Fry's is that they are RENOWNED for doing the following:

        - Sell $PRODUCT
        - Customer_1 takes $PRODUCT home, finds it is defective
        - $CUSTOMER_1 returns product
        - Fry's re-shrinkwraps $PRODUCT
        - (optional) Fry's may or may not label the product as "open box"
        - Fry's sells defective $PRODUCT to Customer_2
        
And, as a perk, if they marked the product as "open box", it generally has a 
sticker which says "no returns, as is".

So, after being by this process maybe three or four times in a little over a 
year when I lived in CA, I stopped going to my local Fry's and instead went to 
the Micro Center 200' away from Fry's. :-)
