Well, to a good first approximation, that's the best way for most
organizations to go; it satisfies the largest group with the least
hassle. Throw Macs into the mix and you've got almost everybody.

On the other paw, there's plenty of cutting-edge Linux stuff happening
with software-defined radios, APRS mapping, and suchlike. Techies tend
to favor open-source software...
