The engine builder typically has very specific procedures they want you to apply for break-in. Od that he didn't give you specific instructions.
Many car guys have the philosophy of using a semi aggressive break-in: let the motor see revs pretty early, but not low rpm lugging. Example: Start with driving around, warming the motor up (15 to 20 minutes at a time), constantly changing revs, maxing at like 4000rpm. Over the span of a handful or two of these 15 - 20 minute runs, increase max revs until you're seeing red line by a couple hundred miles. At this point, change the oil & filter. Keep pushing her harder, adding in some boost, until by 1000 miles, you're at max boost. Most folks stick with dino oil until 3,000 miles, then switch to synth.
