FWIW, several years ago I my car began to overheat. I replaced the original OEM radiator and fans with an aluminum dual core (first FM/Davis, and now Koyo) and SPAL fans (FM) and that resolved the problem. I also reinstalled the splash pan after a couple of years of going without it. Never had a hot moment in low or higher speed highways from MD to SC during Summer, 520+ miles one-way, or in low speed city driving (the worst scenario, usually.)
