When I installed my FMI kit on the wife's 1992 using the inefficient AFPR
and the stock injectors I actually got 31-33 mpg on the highway cruising.
Without the turbo the best the car ever got was 25-26 mpg. I would imagine
with real engine management it would have gotten even better mileage.

Around town the MPG was about the same it was before as long as you drove it
without boosting to redline at every stoplight.

At 2200lbs and 1.6 liters this should be a 40MPG car

But who DRIVES IT like a 40 MPG car (stock engine)?

When I added the BEGI system IV.2 (Basic 8 PSI) turbo, my MPG increased
significantly, by more than 5 MPG. With the upgrade to FM II and it's
larger injectors, the MPG dropped back to stock.

Therefore, with stock injectors, a basic turbo system will probably add more
air to the A/F mix and increase your MPG. No joke.
