Yeah this is a consideration, as Bill mentioned getting into the law-mid
30's with his MSM, not to mention the power.

Right now I cant afford power mods, but when I look at our household fuel
budget that needs attention. The 38mpg neon is a quick and dirty upgrade
mileage wise from the 4x4 ranger which gets 18 or 19.

So now I wonder what modded miata's are getting for MPG's, I should poll
over at Miata.net

At 2200lbs and 1.6 liters this should be a 40MPG car

But who DRIVES IT like a 40 MPG car (stock engine)?

When I added the BEGI system IV.2 (Basic 8 PSI) turbo, my MPG increased
significantly, by more than 5 MPG. With the upgrade to FM II and it's
larger injectors, the MPG dropped back to stock.

Therefore, with stock injectors, a basic turbo system will probably add more
air to the A/F mix and increase your MPG. No joke.
