The gas mileage you get in a 1.6L Miata has a lot to do with how you drive it. Several years ago our Miata club had an economy run which I happened to win. At the time I still had the 1.6L engine in my '93 LE and it had a Sebring SC. I achieved over 46 MPG (but it wasn't much fun.)
