That's the answer I was looking for, even if it wasn't what I was hoping to hear.
Thanks for the help. Physically it will bolt to the bracket on the engine, so yes, it will fit. However, the connections for the hoses are different. The older compressor uses larger bolts and a different offset length to locate the hoses/seals. I know this because just this past weekend I tried to install a compressor from a 1994 Miata into my 1993. It won't work. If I'd had EVERYTHING from the '94 I would have just converted the entire system to the later one, but I was lacking a couple of parts. ===================== From: Lloyd Broussard <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: 2008/05/20 Tue PM 08:35:33 EDT To: Miatapower <[email protected]> Subject: A/C Compressor NPC Will the a/c compressor from a 2002 Miata work on a 1991 Miata? I'm helping out a friend part out the engine of his car, we're putting a LS1 conversion into his car. He knows my compressor has been making a horrible noise, so he giving me the compressor. But I want to make sure it'll work on my car before I accept. It looks like it will bolt up, but you know looks can be deceiving.
