I'd clean the area really well, make a fairly large patch and JB Weld the sh*t out of it. Hit it with a little paint or undercoating after it cures, and you'll be all set. check the tank while you've got it out and treat any corrosion while you have the chance. good used Metro tanks probably aren't all that easy to find these days.

Tank is in good shape except the puncture. I will rinse and flush repeatedly before applying a fix but I know gas tanks can be fixed, just looking for some ideas.
