I did a poll on the Miataforum about this some time ago. The perceived market price was around $200-300. I don't think Mazda sells them that cheap, and Mazda pounds these things out by the truckload. Of course, that price will be low because of the nature of the question, but I think people have unrealistic expectations when it comes to a high-quality, low-volume drivetrain part.
