What diesel do you have?  My Jetta doesn't take 15 quarts of oil (uses 4+,
like a normal car), and only needs oil every 10k miles.  The 06 Jetta is
already rated for the low sulfur fuel, so that's not a problem.  And if you
make the fuel yourself, or use a WVO system, your fuel costs are
significantly lower.
Are you going to E85?  That's like $1.55 out here.

Do you buy your car/truck based solely on the cost of gas?
