Hi everyone,

My girlfriend has an older vehicle 1992 GMC Safari 350,000 km

It went into the shop as it was running really really rough and the
mechanic during repairs (fuel filter) also replaced the serpentine
belt as it had some cracking. The new belt would not stay on. He then
replaced the tensioner and thhat still didn't help, he tried putting
the old belt/old tensioner back on, didn't help. He then put new
tensioner and old belt on and this worked for a 4 hour road trip
(luckily). Since then its been a struggle to try and keep it on for
any length of time... 15 min even.

Is there a way to figure out whats causing the problem? or more
importantly how to make it stay on? I know the vehicle is getting
really old, but she is not in a position to replace the beast.

Sorry for the non Miata question but i really value the knowledge in
this forum so I'm hoping someone has an idea on how to solve this.
