this all started with idle droop when under load, especially a/c
i took apart the non-serviceable TPS to examine it, and soon after it
apparently failed.around the same time my mileage dropped from 28ish to 19/20MPG
checking the codes, I had a TPS code (thats how I knew it was bad), and a 14
code atmospheric sensor which I now know is part of the ECU.
today, I replaced the TPS with a brand new one and set it per the shop manual.
surprisingly, the check-engine light is no longer on. i did not disconnect the
battery or anything.
i have not yet re-tested for codes (had to leave for work)
is it possible that the bad TPS could have also spoofed an erroneous
14/Atmospheric Sensor error?

ANOTHER issue totally separate came up. the coolant was low so I topped it
off. it had been making gurgling sounds at startup lately so I knew it had
some air in it. took about a quart. i do know where it is leaking slowly, the
new radiator is dripping where the trans lines enter it. when the weather
improved I will resolve that.
anyway, today on the way to work, i noticed the temp guage was high around 3/4
when it us typically 1/3. the heat was working fine. i revved the motor and it
dropped right back to normal.
on the way home from work the same thing happened, and a quick downshift
brought it right back and it never went up again. to my thunking, this is
either a sticky tstat, or else it is air bound somehow.

Other than blink codes, what's wrong with the car? What are the
symptoms?
