3/4 on temp gauge is OVERHEATED.

It sounds like a significant amount of air in the coolant system. I
would not drive the car until you solve this. Possible explanations
could be coolant loss from a multitude of places, or a bad head
gasket.

There should not be any coolant leaking from the transmission line
cooler area. The transmission circulates transmission fluid, not
coolant. They should not mix.
