When Melinda posted with more regularity (was it ever regular?), the Bird would post to her like they were going to have coffee the next morning. Always asking about the kids, their outtings, and what they were doing. And if that wasn't crazy enough, Mel would tell her (all of us)! It was really bizarre. Most of us knew damn well that she wasn't part of any "inner circle," but she was really desperate to make sure that the impression that she was was there for all to see.
Another person she took for a ride (literally) was Ed Taylor. Good ole E.T. volunteered to give her a ride to a gig or two back in '01, and it turned into a whole psycho road trip. I don't remember the particulars, but it sure would be nice if Ed would stop back here again and fill us in...and be a part of the group again. Mike ran him off one too many times, I guess. Same with Marty Riemen, Mr. Orange Sunset...or poncho, as he was known here.
