York, begins transmission.
1944 – Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters record "Don't Fence Me In."
1946 – Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis make their first appearance
together as a team at The 500 Club in Atlantic City.
1956 – Ten years to the day after teaming up, the musical comedy act
of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis splits.
1956 – Returning to New York after a trip to Europe, songwriter Mike
Stoller almost drowns but survives the sinking of the luxury liner
Andrea Doria.
1960 – Elvis Presley begins filming his sixth movie, Flaming Star.
