by Bing Crosby that demonstrated the capabilities of the new Ampex 200
recorder.
1953 – Eartha Kitt, with Henri René and his orchestra, record "Santa
Baby" in New York City.
1957 – Cliff Richard plays his first gig with The Shadows at the
Victoria Hall in Hanley.
1959 – The movie Girls Town, starring Paul Anka, Mel Tormé and Mamie

ordering employee Arvel Jett Reeves to install two video cameras in it
in order to catch Jackson saying or doing something for which he could
be blackmailed.
2007 – In Duluth, Minnesota, single mother Jammie Thomas is ordered to
pay $220,000 to six record companies - Sony BMG, Arista Records,
Interscope Records, UMG Recordings Inc., Capitol Records and Warner
Bros. Records Inc. - $9,250 for each of the 24 songs they focused on
in her Kazaa file sharing lawsuit case. She was accused of sharing a
total of 1,702 songs through her Kazaa account.
2007 – 26-year old Isaac Hanson of the group Hanson (“MMMBop”)
undergoes emergency life-saving surgery for a pulmonary embolism. He
makes a full recovery.
2009 – Elvis Presley’s 17-year old grandson, Benjamin Keough, signs a
$5 million/5 album contract with Universal Records.
2011 – David Cassidy sues Sony for unpaid royalties involving
