1956 – Mitch Miller, DJ Alan Freed and two psychiatrists appear on
Eric Sevareid's television program CBS Sunday News to discuss the
potentially negative effects of rock and roll on teenagers.
1958 – Alan Freed's Big Beat Show plays the Kiel Auditorium in St.
Louis, Missouri, featuring Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis,
Danny and The Juniors, The Pastels, Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers,
The Diamonds, Dickie Doo and The Don’ts, Jo Ann Campbell, Ed Townsend
and others. Prior to the show, Buddy Holly has his Fender Stratocaster
stolen from the group's station wagon while they are having lunch.

Dean make cameo appearances, and Bobby Rydell's "Swingin' School" is
featured prominently in the movie's soundtrack, though he doesn’t
appear in the film.
1964 – The Beatles film scenes outside the Scala Theatre for their
movie, which at this point is titled Beatlemania! When filming wraps
for the day, a beleaguered Ringo Starr comments he’s had a hard day’s
night, and John Lennon immediately goes off and writes what will
