1931 – Jimmie Rodgers and The Carter Family record “Why There’s A Tear
In My Eye” and “The Wonderful City” in Louisville, Kentucky.
1958 – Elvis Presley releases his single, "Hard Headed Woman" b/w
"Don't Ask Me Why." Later in the day, while on leave from the Army
after completing his basic training, Elvis holds a recording session
at RCA Studios in Nashville, recording "I Need Your Love Tonight," "A
Big Hunk O' Love," "Ain't That Loving You, Baby?" and "A Fool Such As
I."
1964 – While on tour in the U.S., The Rolling Stones record "It's All
Over Now," “I Can’t Be Satisfied,” “Time Is On My Side” and several
other songs at Chess Studio in Chicago. While there, the group meets
Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Buddy Guy and Chuck Berry. The Stones will
return the next day for more recording.
1964 – Elvis Presley records "Puppet On A String," "The Meanest Girl
In Town" and "Girl Happy" at Radio Recorders in Hollywood.
1964 – Buck Owens and His Buckaroos record “Truck Drivin’ Man,” “I

1992 – Stage singer, dancer and actor Ben Vereen crashes his car near
his Malibu home, and is taken to the police station for sobriety
tests. After passing the tests, Vereen is released. While walking home
along the Pacific Coast Highway, he is hit by a truck, suffering
critical injuries that require months of hospitalization and therapy.
1993 – Sinead O'Connor takes out a full-page ad in The Irish Times to
explain herself and to ask people to "stop hurting me, please."
2002 – Former Wet Wet Wet singer Marti Pellow makes his stage acting
debut at the Adelphi Theatre in the London West End production of
Chicago.
2003 – Ex-wife of rapper Eminem, Kim Mathers is arrested and released
pending further investigation in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, for
driving on a revoked license and for possessing two Ziploc bags
containing a “white powdery substance,” which are found in the glove

2007 – The Rolling Stones play their first UK festival in over 30

ever at the event.
2009 – Jimmy Page is voted in the Mojo Hall of Fame at the Mojo
