1954 – Jerry Lee Lewis marries his second wife, Jane Mitcham, 23 days 
before his divorce from first wife, Dorothy Barton, is final. Lewis, who 
was married to Barton for only 20 months, will stay married to Mitcham for 
three years.

1956 – 15-year old Paul Anka records his first record, “I Confess.”

1957 – Country music singer Patsy Cline marries her second husband, Charlie 
Dick. They remain married until her death in 1963.

1957 – Billy Ward and The Dominoes perform “Star Dust” on The Ed Sullivan 
Show. Also on the show are The Andrews Sisters.

1957 – Alan Freed’s Biggest Show Of Stars package tour stops for a concert 
at the Montreal Forum in Quebec, Canada, featuring The Everly Brothers, 
Fats Domino, LaVerne Baker, The Crickets, The Drifters, Chuck Berry, 
Frankie Lymon, Eddie Cochran, The Bobettes, Buddy Knox, Clyde McPhatter, 
The Spaniels, Jimmy Bowen and others.

1959 – Lloyd Price records two songs for his next single, “Come Into My 
Heart” and “Won’tcha Come Home” at Bell Sound Studios in New York City.

1961 – Hawthorne, California, singing group The Pendletones have their 
first demo recording session at the home studio of Hite and Dorinda Morgan. 
The group demos three songs, including one of their own compositions, 
“Surfin.”

1964 – The Beatles perform one show at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland,

shows. Elvis acts dropped to number two, while Beatles acts dropped to 
three.

2003 – Johnny Cash is laid to rest in the family cemetery at
