I honestly don't know too much about Ray's personal life. Even X-Ray (his
"unauthorized" autobiography) is disguised as part novel. It's a good read,
but if you're looking for hard facts, you have to read between the lines,
and decide where fiction takes over. I don't think the relationship with
Chrissy Hind went well, but I'm not sure I've heard both sides. I know he
still goes down to the pub with Mick Avory. And he was shot in New Orleans
chasing down a purse snatcher.

Do you know the back story of Come Dancing? Ray's eldest sister (married
and living in America) was home in Muswell Hill for an extended visit (to
get away from her abusive husband) which included Rays' 13th birthday. Rene
(ree-nee, not re-nay) took Ray to a shop and bought him his first guitar on
his that day. Later that same evening, against medical advice (she had a
heart murmur) she went dancing, and died in the arms of a stranger on the
dance floor. The follow up single "Don't Forget to Dance" is probably about
the same thing.

Sadly I just discovered this - the part about Rene says electric
guitar....not true...it was an acoustic "Spanish" guitar.

My 2 favorite artists, that are said (by pretty much by all accounts) to be
assholes, are Todd Rundgren, and Robert Fripp.
