Not to suggest a change to the name but when you compare the size of the specs for the Elemental Microformats such as XFN, VoteLinks, and Rel-Nofollow with the Compound Microformats such as hCard, hCalendar and hReview, it seems like the latter might be better suited under the umbrella of "mini-formats".
