Nando, can I give you a hint about net etiquette? when you use BLOCK CAPITALS, this normally indicates angry shouting. I therefore find this type of post offensive, and I do not usually pay much attention to people who use this style. > > >Just to prove yourself : Setup the hydro with a transformer/rectifier with a >small resistor in series between the battery and the charger, this resistor >needs to set the maximum power drawn by the transformer/rectifier into the >battery and resistor = Current^2 * Resistor + Bat_voltage*Current. >Just a test -- so The CKT should have the capability to regulate the current >within the limitations of the system. > >Small systems, many times, DO need to have a load with MPPT capabilities >either DC or AC generated power. I am sorry but I cannot make any sense out of this advice. Adding resistance to the line would make for more losses. The efficiency of the motor/rectifier combination is already unsatisfactory. That us why I do not use it. As for fitting a MPPT controller, this would only be appropriate where the operating conditions change. I do not understand the benefit if the flow is constant. I would optimise the loading (maximise power) for the fixed flow at which it operates. No need for tracking. I value feedback both negative and positive, and I really don't like making people angry or causing offense. -- Hugh Scoraig Wind Electric http://www.scoraigwind.co.uk/ ------------------------ Yahoo!
