Well, I've read it before and I'm not any wiser. I had uncommented
the lines that define RedHat release level as 5.* and accordingly
commented out the lines for 6.*. Other than that, there's really not
much to do. Still, when I get to:
> # rpm -bb /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/apache-midgard-1.2.5.spec
... I get:
checking MySQL location... /usr
checking for mysql_connect in -lmysqlclient... no
*** You need the libmysqlclient library for Midgard. ***
*** Use the --with-mysql option to tell ***
*** the configure script where to look for the library. ***
configure: error: MySQL client library mysqlclient not found.
Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.92643 (%build)
... even though I'm sure the correct version of the library is
there, and 15 seconds earlier compiler check in "configure" (gcc
-L/usr/lib/mysql -lcrypt) didn't signal any errors, and before using
the command line I exported LDFLAGS="-L/usr/lib/mysql -lcrypt" and
verified the variable is set.

Well, I was also planning a Polish version of Migdgard, but I would
need to be told what to do.

As soon as the RPM starts behaving :)
