They aren't even necesary anymore. I'll take them out.
I have installed the MP on an 5.2 machine without any problems,
but the box is very non-pristine, so I may be overlooking 
a dependency.

I'd like to see the config.log for the package it was working on
at the time of this error.

Does Polish use a non-iso-8859-1 charset? Then you may want to talk to
Alexander Bokovoy who's done the Russian version. Otherwise the elements
that would need translation are the documentation and the Admin site.
