Ok, now here's a kick in the face.
I copied one of my FIRST attempts at building a new midgard-php (libphp3.so)
from the server I've _been_ working on (unsuccessfully) to another
development server I have handy. This other server is basically the same
installation plus or minus some RPMS.
This particular libphp3.so had IMAP, MySQL and LDAP built into it.
So I copied it into /usr/lib/apache and started Apache up with no problems.
To make sure I wasn't seeing things or fooling myself I took a look at the
phpinfo() and it was all in there.

So now I'm REALLY confused.
