You should login as Administrator before changing its data. (admin/password as
username and password in default installation)

Do you manually called configure or used 'setup' tool? (Just interested -
whether 'setup' need to be supported in new version)

We actively working on it now and expecting that in final release of 1.4 it
will be used as default data format. BTW, Midgard 1.4beta3 (a.k.a 1.2.6beta3)
will be released tonight)

As Emile said: "Just ask for - and receive it" :-)

Do you mean Admin Site's code? If so, probably 1.4 will have. For the moment,
you can use mgd_update_article (or $article->update() in 1.4b3)

1.4b3 will have detailed description about SiteGroups, Events, and OOP (Emile -
we forgot about OOP release notes!)

Emile and Jean-Pierre have two different approaches, and now working under
joining their forces into scalable solution.
