Captain was timed out and flight attendants never arrived But luggage had already been sent to destination Then AA internal system had troubles. Unable to rebook. Finally, many hours later, passengers found they were booked on a flight 3 days hence.
JK - suggested new rules: After four hours delay, declare the flight indefinitely delayed and release passengers from obligations and provide immediate cash refund. For those not wanting to wait longer, reunite them with their luggage Provide Rule 240 type measure and move them to another airline Rule #1 should be: throw money at them.
