Sounds like the same issue, and yes, this is the same hardware as the PR732. I think every time this has happened, it's also been when there are storms in the area. I had it happen at two different sites in a single day a couple weeks ago when there were thunderstorms around. The only common thread is that both were recently upgraded to 6.x. These two routers previously ran on older versions of ROS for years without issues, and I've got identical units at other towers running older versions, also with no problems. Both of these are plugged into APC UPS units, One is in a 1000XL and the other in a 2200XL. I guess I'll try downgrading to 5.26. They were both at 4.x previously.

Thanks for your help!

A few months ago I upgraded a couple of x86 routers to RouterOS 6.x,
and have since had something strange happen with both. Out of the
blue, the routers will get into a state where one ethernet port cycles
between no-link and 1Gbps about once per second or two. Rebooting the
router fixes the problem. This does not happen frequently. So far
it's been about every 5-10 weeks. One of these has 6.9 and the other
is running 6.12. They are Axiomtech NA-820 units with Intel GigE
ports. I'm assuming this is a 6.x problem since these units never had
an issue until I upgraded them, and now both of them have done this at
least once.

Anyone know if any of the latest ROS builds might address this?

I have no cure, but I have been seeing similar issues with one of my
PowerRouter 732s which I believe is the same hardware. The UPS between
it and the grid is not terribly great. It is ancient and pre-dates our
use of the site.

I believe I only see this problem when a power event happens. One of
the ports will start flapping at about the frequency you mention. This
is always when a storm has come through the area, 50 miles from me.

A reboot of the PR732 sorts it out immediately. I think the power
browns out during the transition and something comes unglued in the
ethernet device. The PR732 runs fine on the UPS after a reboot. I
don't know if it's a driver issue or a hardware issue.

I originally installed the PR732 running RouterOS 5.x with a small but
new UPS. The UPS died and the person on-site plugged us into his UPS.
Some time after that is when we started noticing these problems. I
cannot remember if we had upgraded to RouterOS 6.x before the UPS died
or after.
