Revealed himself to me? YES! In fact, those are keywords of my life...read on...
I met Jesus, the Christ in 1988. I was raised in church, decided I hated it, turned to drugs & became atheistic & even dabbled in satanism. I was challenged by a Christian to "ask God to reveal Himself to you" and so I asked "God" to do just that. I went to bed, nothing happened, I was actually expecting an earthquake or lightning...but...nothing happened so I went to bed that night still an atheist / drug addict. Long story short - next morning I was alone at the house and within an hour after waking God had revealed Himself to me in a miraculous way and taken away a several-years cocaine addiction...no withdrawls. I flushed a gram down the commode and was literally overflowing with a joy I'd never known, Jesus had done just what I thought impossible. I had absolutely no doubt that the God who created this world & universe had come to literally live inside of me and show me his reality and intimate love. I then received the free gift of eternal life (Romans 3:23, 6:23 10:9-10) given by what Christ did on & after the cross by praying and asking for it. You can do that, too. Go and read the above scriptures and do what they say. No bible? Just google it. I am not better than anyone else. Life is not any easier, It's actually harder but I have a joy that overrules all emotion, doubt, fear and any situation that life may throw in my direction, and eternal life as well. I have no doubt about the authenticity of scripture, the existence of God, the reality of heaven and hell, and the modern-day working of miracles by God. Just the other day some friends gathered with me & we decided to go out telling others about Jesus & salvation as we do quite often (much like I'm doing here). As we prayed before going out, in one of my friends mind "Jason's Deli" came up so a couple of us went there. A lady with us went up to a single girl and told her the good news of salvation through Christ & offered to pray for her. This lady told my friend her first name but our friend did not tell her her name. Next day my friend had a mysterious number on her cell phone, called it, and guess who it was? The lady she met at Jason's Deli! She had intended to call a place of business but misdialed. This in a city (Waco, TX.) of over 100,000. No phone numbers had been exchanged and my friend did not give the lady her name. The lady was quite shaken up by this & ended up coming to church and recently received salvation through Christ. God revealed Himself to her! One more; As our church (Antioch Community Church) was meeting in a local theatre during our building renovation I had a picture in my "mind's eye" (pun intended) of a girl jumping off the balcony. I went up to investigate but found nobody there. I told my wife about this and later I had the same "vision" again so I approached a church leader & friend and told him my vision during the last part of our service; ministry time. He got tears in his eyes & told me that as the church leadership was praying before church several leaders had an impression of the word "suicide." Along with that, someone's impression was that there would be a lady at church that morning with thoughts of attempting to kill herself. My friend (church leader) went up on stage and called this out to the 700-800 or so that were gathered that morning for church. Soon a lady came running down the isle with a friend, in tears, and it happened that she had wanted to kill herself that very morning after church was over. She was ministered to, accepted Christ and over the next weeks & months addressed the issues that influenced her to consider suicide. Again, God revealed Himself! God can't be proven....but he is real. Jesus is alive today and he loves you no matter what. The bible is authentic and has passed every test given to literature of antiquity. It's 66 books can be trusted. There are more copies of scripture than any other ancient literary work, and the amount of copies in posession today far surpasses even the next closest (which is Homer). Not only that, the time between the earliest copy we have and the original writing is much, much closer than Homer ( New Testament written 45-100 A.D.Earliest copy we have was written 125 A.D. with over 25,000 copies currently in posession. Ask God to reveal himself to you. Trust, receive, and follow him by faith and your doubt will vanish. Jesus not only stands ready, willing and able to set you free from eternal punishment in hell, but He has a wonderful abundant life waiting for any who will receive him into their lives. Life's not necessarily easier or happier It's just...for the first time...REAL.
