Dear Matthijs, this is so true. At my age (66), talking to my beautiful
wife, I often remember such situations as with the grocery-girl. Until I
married Nancy in 2007 my life was so filled with loneliness, mostly due to
the feelings I dare not express. In my case it is absolutely
incomprehensible. I teach my students how to express feelings in my
acting-classes.
Young people are less aware of time than the old ones. And they are lucky
they don't worry about. Regrets come later.

Maybe it is love that we fear.
Afraid to lose it or to expose it.
When I was about 19 years old there worked a really beautiful girl in
the grocery store, I always talked to her and we really connected. And
I still remember how I wanted to tell how beautiful she was! And that
she was the woman I wanted to marry. I was to afraid to tell her and
one day she moved away with her parents vanished out of my life.

To believe in any god does not depend on knowledge, to know every
story. It is a feeling you carry inside you.
I want to thank you all for sharing!

  Greetings,
  Matthijs
