I was thinking that this type of compassion is largely attributed to
self-image or self recognition and usually coincides with some type of
media coverage.  Compassion definitively infers the alleviation of
pain or suffering, mental or physical, through some type of
interaction or intervention and I would think that compassion is a
valuable asset to all of humanity.  It is easily seen what happens
when compassion is absent in any given setting.   I guess we are
beyond lobsters at this thread point as there numerous other examples
of misguided human compassion run amok.
Is it possible that this type of compassion is merely another
extension of political correctness?
