Not sure how to tell what might be genetically manufactured but I do
know the stuff labeled 'organic' in the market is more expensive and
generally more raggedy looking then what i buy.  Personally, I don't
know what all the fuss is about.  If people don't want to eat stuff
that tastes funny they'll buy the stuff that tastes better.  Our
access to information and the food grower's susceptibility to lawsuits
allow for safer food products.  Government intervention to bar produce
without any evidence to support claims of harmful effects seems over
reactive to me.  If Europe doesn't want this produce then the people
won't buy it.  Telling shops what they can and can't carry on their
shelves makes little sense unless it has been proved to be harmful.

As for the lawsuits;  seems to me like a cut and dried case for tort
reform.  Too much suing going around.
