Historically, I find the West's attitude indifferent, even callous. Only recently has it, especially US, woken up to the enormous and rapidly changing dynamics spearheaded by the Al Quaida and Taliban.
Can you expand on this opinion? If by recently you mean Sept. 11, 2001 I agree. If you mean recently as in a few months ago I'm perplexed. Perhaps you disagree with the method of response but I believe our response has been notable. Obama's recent rhetoric criticizing his own country and praising the very element persecuting us infidels frustrates me. His lack of foresight scares me. Cutting the military budget and signing disarmament treaties hardly seems the right way to prepare for WWIII. I hope Obama is secretly testing nukes and that half that TARP money is actually going to defense. One can dream.
