Success is both important and simple to understand. It starts in the
heart of man, as desire or want and then as the goal one commits
oneself to. Then follows the long haul of effort, application of mind,
discipline and single mindedness ...   such that one's faculties grow
in capacity ...  and, one discovers oneself.

Success is launching oneself and remaining on that journey of self -
discovery. Stations, Position, Money, Property, Power Gain, etc. are
peripheral to success and are, at best, secondary gauges of success.

This is not to contradict your views about politicians and
bureaucrats. They are not even peripheral to the topic of " success,"
but for their visibility.
