If you are happy in your bigotry(which we know is a function of ignorance) then how can you change? <<<Lee
Lee, being that you are speaking about your brother, you should phrase the sentence in that person so it doesn't appear as though I am a biggot. Such as>>If he is happy with his bigotry (which we know is a function of ignorance) then how can he change? Thank you! Now to address your brother Kevin's bigotry. You are implying that because he is happy with his bigotry he is incapable of change. Perhaps he is happy "now" but who knows in 5-15 years? Secondly not everyone is going to be singing the same hymn sheet! The collective ideal is not robotic or choreographed but serves to provide a mutual understanding for all for the benefit of all. In a crude way I would have to say that having "toilets" is the result of collective mentality. Don't you get it? Everyone understands, "collectively", that flushing is better than just dumping in the yard! Go out and ask everyone you know and everyone you meet if they would rather live in a world of peace and see if you can find someone that prefers to live in a world of horror and atrocity. I think the answer is easy. Even if you come up with one moron the percentages will speak the truth. That is the simple version of the collective and I think the problem that everyone is experiencing in this and the collective mentality thread is that people are trying to jump to the end result immediately while bypassing the "process stages". It is just like those who thought flying to the moon was impossible. They couldn't see the "process" by which that feat was accomplished. They looked around and made an assessment based on the technology that was available. They couldn't see the technological advancements that took place between their pessimistic assessment and the actual accomplishment. You and others perceive the collective as something that people just talk about overnight that instantaneously transpires from a dream to reality. It could take 500 years to actually come about but the fact is that it "Can". Simple examination of the past 1000 years of human history will show that what is happening today was at one time a pipe dream that people scoffed at and made jokes about.
