Over the years I have had to make many apologies, an apology from me means I
have hurt you in some manner. though word no longer counts but the the
amends that demonstrate the sincerity that is within me. hopefully I will be
forgiven, for which I am grateful when given.

morally and spiritually I am required to make these amends, they go beyond
saying I am sorry,, they require me to change my ways so that I do not harm
again and making amends to right the wrongs I have done. I am not allowed to
make amends when those amends will cause harm to some one else. then I must
live with the shame and guilt.

the other side of the coin is say you destroy my property you are morally
obligated to replace it with equal to or greater value a simple apology does
not cut the mustard. I am not required to forgive you nor do I owe a person
an apology for not forgiving them.
