Well, it depends: my line of thinking was that if there were infinite
parallel universes, and if a continuum contained, as you say, all things,
then an indeterminate future (and past) are possibilities. It would make our
judgement on whether predetermination was in evidence difficult. Just an
idle thought.

I'm an empiricist, Pat. I'll mostly leave this sort of lofty speculation --
which you must admit can be little fanciful! -- to people who have an
appetite for it. I'm unlikely to be satisfied by the mountains and mountains
of assumptions upon which quantum physics operate. That's not say I am not
impressed by the accuracy of *some* predictions, but I'm too cautious to
think this is a rational basis for a teleology and, further, what
implications that might have.

Biology is my bag, as I've said before. I can see it, touch it, and observe
how things operate within it. It's real to me. Although I do love a bit of
banter about physics, once things get a bit quantum I am left thinking it's
all rather beards and sandals. No offence. :) I am interested though...
