I've sort of 'gone native' in a personal quest to discover how bent
society has become (and perhaps forever was). I have arrived at my
conclusions. I watched an old episode of 'The Wire' last night (BBC2
is running the series about 4 years late). The drunk, divorced,
shagger-Irish cop is setting Baltimore up with a false serial killer,
in order to force the powers-that-be to provide resources for real
murders. This would be a fair summary of what I've found, though it
ain't 'dark' enough. My current situation is that I need a place of
safety to write from (harder than I was expecting to find - they are
very good at reducing us to functionaries) and a pain in the head
trying to work out how any of the good bits of society work. Just to
put the cap on, I have a real pain in the head from an infection, and
in taking the antibiotics have discovered I had let myself run down
pretty badly - all sorts of problems I was putting down to age and
depression seem to be falling in front of the microbe wipe out!

I have to say Slip, that I've generally been sickened by 'women in
power' - they have tended to bully by nasty means, reminding me of
some primate political behaviour. I've always found it much easier to
shrug off bullying by men. I wouldn't consider this a gender point
really - something is so very wrong with hierarchy. I believe most of
our interactions are primitive and driven by a biology we refuse to
understand. I have got to the point at which I would rather die than
take any more of it, but not made a decision to retreat to the
hermitage. I do need to break away from my 'research' as this only
proves the same point over and over.
