I thought your article was excellent, gruff. Thank you. I would add a couple of thoughts, if I may: the breakdown of the nuclear family, the rise of militant feminism and rejection/shaming of women who were mere mothers and homemakers and the discontinuation of home economics (and shop, for that matter) in secondary education. In addition, the stress of two working parents, the proliferation of fast-unhealthy- food and the preference of doctors to seek a speciality so as to control his/ her workday hours versus the general practitioner/family physician who had a personal knowledge of the family. Also, the abuse of emergency services for minor ailments is a real problem for hospitals as far as cost and staff- it seems strange that new arrivals acquire the social services of a city without being informed/provided with proper medical information in the prevention/treating of disease and immunizations, etc. Finally, the impact of poverty and ignorance is an overwhelming factor in regard to health.Health insurance is being run by MBA's who have ruined it along with their intrusion into major sports teams- :-)// I am sorry for your former health problems and hope you are okay or better.
