I had a hip replacement with an epidural five years ago. It was a very weird experience - firstly being awake while your leg ist taken out of the socket and then hearing all that hammering, chiselling and drilling going on. They'd initially sedated me, but I wasn't out.
Post-op, as a result of the analgesic cocktail they were pumping straight into my lumbal fluid I was high as a kite - but I felt really great. I phoned a colleague/friend of mine two hours after the operation. She told me later I'd talked for an hour non-stop. Sometimes - only sometimes - your health insurance will actually pay for getting you stoned ...:-) Francis On 23 Sep., 21:22, Molly Brogan <[email protected]> wrote: > enjoy it while you can! and welcome back. look forward to your alice > in wonderland comments. > > On Sep 23, 2:08 pm, iam deheretic <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > > cI know they are not going to make me a junkie in a week,, but it is weird > > laying flat on back i see myself floating above the floor (wall) with my > > feet in a box watching the TV on the wall (Ceiling) I see enough weird > > stuff with out having them drug induced. > > Allan > > > (that hospital was weird) > > > On Wed, Sep 23, 2009 at 5:45 PM, frantheman > > <[email protected]>wrote: > > > > Good to hear that you're on the way back to functionality, Allan. > > > > Pain is a weird thing - it's very subjective.
